Brother Rice's Reschke, Other Prep Stars Impressed by Lions, Calvin Johnson

The Warriors' star linebacker Jon Reschke was among the local all stars to visit the Detroit Lions training camp today.

 

Jon Reschke has a long-term goal of stuffing running backs at the line of scrimmage and hauling down tight ends at the professional level. Today, the senior linebacker got a first-hand glimpse of just what it will take to get there.

Reschke, who will anchor the Warriors' defense as they try to repeat as , was among a handful of the best high school football players in the state to visit the Detroit Lions practice facility in Allen Park for an afternoon.

He told Channel 7 that he paid special attention to the Lions defensive core.

"I was watching the linebackers out there, working their butts off. The hard work they go through is incredible," Reschke said, according to wxyz.com. "It sets my goals high."

Reschke is committed to play at Michigan State University.

Others marveled at wide receiver Calvin Johnson's physical presence on the field.

"I can't believe he's really that big," East English Valley Prep tight end Khalid Hill told wxyz.com.

The visit was part of the promotional festivities surrounding the 2012 Detroit Sports Commission Prep Kickoff Classic on Aug. 24-25 at Wayne State University's Tom Adams Field. The Warriors face the Division 1 champion Detroit Cass Tech
