Check of Woman Making Bed on Resident’s Porch Leads Authorities to Cache of Drugs

Police tracked woman building a bed of pillows on porch of Bloomfield Township residence to a home where they had to administer naloxone.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Police took the long way around to finding a cache of drugs that led to multiple felony charges filed against Ricky Kevonian, 46, of Bloomfield Township.

It started on May 9, when Bloomfield Township Police were called to the area of Wye Oak and Inkster, where a dirty, shoeless and incoherent woman thought to be under the influence of narcotics was spotted on a resident’s porch trying to make a bed of pillows, police said in a news release.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment, and police traced her to a residence she shared with Kevonian on the 4000 block of Hedgewood. When officers arrived there, they discovered blood on the outside and inside of the home. Kevonian’s daughter let officers inside the home, where they found him lying in his bed surrounded by a syringe and marijuana and crack pipes, police said.

He was unresponsive, moaning and gasping for air, so police administered the opioid overdose antidote naloxone and transported him to an area hospital for treatment.

Police executed a search warrant at the Hedgewood home and found approximately 350 grams of marijuana, 545 grams of marijuana wax, 118 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, 0.5 grams of cocaine, miscellaneous prescription opiates, two shotguns and an AR-15 rifle, according to the release.
