Distinguished Alumni Named to Cranbrook Board of Trustees

Brock Landry and Mark Reuss bring versatile experience to school leadership.

The Cranbrook Educational Community Board of Trustees has added two prominent alumni to its ranks.

Brock Landry and Mark Reuss were both named trustees to the board in a unanimous decision, the school reported.

Landry graduated from Cranbrook Schools in 1965 and received his undergraduate degree from Yale University. He returned to Michigan and earned his law degree from the University of Michigan.

Landry is currently chairman of the Venable legal firm’s government division in Washington, D.C. That includes more than 150 attorneys and lobbyists that work in the legislative, regulatory, and financial services fields. Landry’s own practice focuses on trade associations and non-profits in diverse areas, such as taxation, international trade and standards development.

He’s also active in the community and with charitable efforts, serving on the board of Volunteers of America–Chesapeake and is the Treasurer and a board member of the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Mark Reuss is president of General Motors North America. He’s also served the company as vice president of engineering and managed GM’s operations in Australia and New Zealand and executive director of North America vehicle systems and architectures. He is a 1982 graduate of Cranbrook Schools and received a bachelor of engineering degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University. He also attended Duke University and received a master’s degree in business administration in 1990.

He is member of the Cranbrook Schools Horizons-Upward Board of Directors and a member of the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering Board of Visitors.
