Driver Killed in Bloomfield Twp. Crash Wasn't Wearing Seatbelt: Police

A 26-year-old Commerce Township man was killed in two-vehicle crash. A 27-year-old St. Clair Shores man walked away without injuries.

Bloomfield Township, MI — A 26-year-old man who died after he was ejected from his vehicle in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning wasn't wearing a seatbelt, Bloomfield Township police said.

The accident, which remains under investigation by the police department's Traffic Investigations Unit, occurred about 7:25 a.m. A 2007 Chevy Impala driven by a 27-year-old old man from St. Clair Shores came in contact with the 2013 Ford F-150 pickup driven by the 26-year-oldffrom Commerce Township, according to police Sgt. Kim Comerford of the Traffic Investigations Unit.



The driver of the pickup was ejected when the vehicle hit the guardrail and flipped over in the median, police said. The Chevy careened right and went down the right shoulder embankment.

The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and the St. Clair Shores man was released at the scene.

Comerford said alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor in the crash.

Police are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the crash. They may contact the Traffic Investigations Unit at (248) 433-7749.
