Women did more than just send husbands and sons off to war with a tear and a quilt. They worked as nurses, made uniforms, gathered and sent supplies, worked to improve sanitation and much more. Some courageously, fought alongside their husbands, acted as spies and some disguised themselves as men and bravely served as soldiers.
Our speaker, Annie Hunt has always been interested in Civil War history as her great-grandfather served in the Civil War. She has read extensively and specialized in women’s activities during this time. Please join with us at the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society to hear Annie discuss this fascinating topic.
