Bloomfield Historical Society will be taking a journey on Sunday, September 23 to visit the earliest residents of the Bloomfield area when Cranbrook Institute of Science’s Cameron Wood presents an interactive discovery of the archaeology, history and culture of Native Americans of the Great Lakes.
Where did the earliest known Paleo-Indians come from? Who are their descendants and what is their impact on our history? Over the broad sweep of time Wood, an anthropology educator, will focus on the Ojibway, Ottawa and Potawatomi tribes as well as other cultural groups. He will also highlight events and anecdotes from the Oakland County area.
Additionally, get a “feel for the past” with hands-on objects, as well as artifacts from the Institute’s collection.

It’s all a part of Bloomfield Historical’s Local History/ Local Resources series that is co-sponsored with the Bloomfield Township Public Library. Sunday, September 23 from 3 to 4:30 in the Library’s Community Room. It’s open to all and there is no charge.
