New Year's Day Hikes are taking place at 18 state parks and recreation areas all across Michigan.
In Oakland County, you can participate in a 1.5 mile moderatly difficult New Year's Day Hike at Pontiac Lake Recreation Area.
Make sure to bring plenty of water, layer your clothes, waterproof shoes, and if we have snow, get out your snow shoes.
