GPS Software in Computer Catches a Thief: Police
Bloomfield Township police found two suspects in home invasions through software installed in computer.

Bloomfield Township Police tracked down a suspect in a Nov. 23 burglary through GPS tracking software installed in a computer that was among the items stolen from the home in the 400 block of Evansdale.
The homeowner told police he left his home about 4 p.m. on the day of the burglary and came home about an hour later to discover someone had broken in the backdoor. Televisions, computers and a gaming system were taken.

Bloomfield Township evidence technicians tracked the stolen items to a residence in the 40 block of HIllside in Pontiac.
On Nov. 24, Bloomfield Township Police Department, with the assistance of Troy Special Investigation Unit, Oakland County Violent Crimes Task Force, Oakland County Sheriff Department, and Auburn Hills Police Department, served a search warrant in the residence.

They recovered two of the televisions and the computers stolen in the Bloomfield Township burglary, but also evidence related to a home invasion in the city of Auburn Hills that also occurred on Nov. 23.
Investigators arrested Christopher Eric Dietrich, 23, of Pontiac in connection with both burglaries.
Bloomfield Township also arrested was a second suspect, Raymond Renard-Lenor Gee, 19, at a residence in the 60 block of Vinewood Court, Pontiac. Troy and Oakland County authorities assisted in that arrest.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized second-degree home invasion charges against both men, who are being held in the Oakland County Jail.
Dietrich was arraigned in 48th District Court before Magistrate Julie Nelson-Klein, who set a $200,000 cash bond. His probable cause hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 3 in 48th District Court.
Gee has not yet been arraigned.
