I-75 Tear-Up Starts Monday: What to Expect
The two-year, 18-mile project will improve I-75 through Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Township, Troy, Madison Heights, Royal Oak, and Hazel Park.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — The first phase of a $90.8 million project to rebuild Interstate 75 in Oakland County begins Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
The two-year I-75 modernization project in Oakland County is approximately 18 miles in length through six communities: Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Township, Troy, Madison Heights, Royal Oak, and Hazel Park.
The project will add a commuter lane that will be used by carpoolers and transit vehicles in peak hours, and then operate as a general lane for all motorists to use in off hours. This will be the first high-occupancy vehicle lane in Michigan.
