Man Convicted In Antisemitic Harassment Case Against Metro Detroit Official: Prosecutor

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A New Jersey man is facing prison time for harassing a Bloomfield Township official through email, according to prosecutors.

Marc William Aisen, 50, of Hoboken, New Jersey, was convicted of using a computer to commit a crime and unlawful posting of messages.

He will be sentenced on June 9. He faces up to four years in prison for using a computer to commit a crime and up to two years for unlawful posting of messages.

Aisen began emailing a Bloomfield Township official in July 2023, making baseless child sexual exploitation accusations against a Boston-based Jewish organization, according to prosecutors.

When he did not get a response, Aisen started emailing other officials, the victim’s ex-wife and accused the official of covering up the abuse on public message boards, according to prosecutors.

On Oct. 9, 2023, Aisen emailed more than 100 recipients, including the victim’s children’s school, accusing him of covering up abuse and being affiliated with Hamas, according to prosecutors.

The U.S. government deems Hamas a militant and terrorist organization in rule of Gaza.

"False accusations of child abuse are among the oldest and most disgusting antisemitic tropes," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "A jury unanimously concluded that Marc Aisen’s behavior was not free speech. It crossed the line into criminal harassment."
