Man Threatened to Kill Judge Lisa Gorcyca, Blow Up 6th Circuit Court: Sheriff
Suspect reportedly researched Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and said he respected his views on the government.

PONTIAC, MI — A man accused of threatening to kill 6th Circuit Court Judge Lisa Gorcyca and blow up the 6th Circuit Court Building on the Oakland County Campus in Pontiac earlier this month has been arrested, authorities said late Wednesday.
Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe said in a news release that Anthony Jeffrey Brodie, 24, of Pontiac, told an acquaintance that he didn't think he would get a fair hearing in a child custody case pending before Gorcyca.
McCable said Brodie had become “enraged,” had indicated he was ready and willing “go to war” and that he had been researching Timothy McVeigh’s actions in the Oklahoma City bombing and how he had accomplished the bombing.

“Brodie indicated told the acquaintance that he agreed with McVeigh’s views on the government,” McCabe said.
Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper authorized a felony warrant against Brodie with making a false report or threat of terrorism, a 20-year felony also punishable by a fine of up to $20,000.

Oakland County sheriff’s detectives from the department's Special Investigations Unit obtained a warrant that was sworn to before 50th District Court Judge Rhonda Gross in Pontiac on Tuesday.
At the request of the sheriff’s office, the U.S. Marshal's “DFAT West Team,” which services the city of Ann Arbor, took Brodie into custody late Wednesday morning at his place of employment in Ann Arbor
A search warrant for Brodie’s residence was obtained and executed late Wednesday by Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and potential evidence in this case was seized.
Brodie will be video arraigned in 50th District Court in Pontiac on Thursday.
Gorcyca has made headlines over the past year regarding her handling of a custody case involving the Tsimhoni children of Bloomfield Hills. She sent the children to a juvenile detention center last year or refusing to have lunch with their estranged father last summer. She told the Judicial Tenure Commission, which found her guilty of misconduct in her handling of the long-simmering child custody dispute, that she had run out of options.
