Man Who Shot Girlfriend Faces Multiple Charges
Jaisen Clanagan shot his girlfriend in the chest after an argument turned physical, police say.

Bloomfield Township, MI — A Bloomfield Township man was arraigned Thursday on multiple charges after he allegedly shot his girlfriend in the chest during an argument Wednesday morning, police said.
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital emergency room officials notified Bloomfield Township police around 9 a.m. Wednesday that a 38-year-old woman had come to the hospital with a gunshot wound, according to police.
Investigators determined that she had been shot by her boyfriend, Jaisen Clanagan, 43, at their home on the 1600 block of Winthrop Road in Bloomfield Township.

Police said the two had been drinking alcohol at a party the night before and got into an argument the turned physical.

Clanagan, a family member and a friend at the house immediately provided aid to the victim. The friend drove the victim to St Joseph Mercy hospital.
Clanagan was arrested by the Bloomfield Township Police Department several hours after the incident and is cooperating with the investigation. He has been charged with:
- Felony firearm discharge in a building causing injury;
- Felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm;
- Felony assault with a dangerous weapon;
- Misdemeanor firearms – careless discharge causing injury or death
- Misdemeanor domestic violence; and
- Four counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
He was arraigned Thursday before 48th District Court Magistrate Howard Linden, who set bond at $250,000. His next court appearance is at 8:45 a.m. July 14 before 48th District Judge Diane D’Agostini.
