Devine told The Birmingham Eccentric that he has been “encouraged by many residents to run for supervisor.”
He has been the township treasurer for 17 years, during which he says he has “made and saved tens of millions of taxpayer dollars through prudent investments and by negotiating employment contracts to ultimately eliminate legacy costs for pensions and retiree healthcare.”
He said it’s time for change in Bloomfield Township.
“I am ready, able and willing to provide thoughtful and steady leadership to the office of township treasurer,” he said. “Bloomfield Township residents deserve effective and professional elected leadership. We must move beyond needless controversies and work together to build a stronger community.”
The filing deadline is April 19.
