New Leaders Begin Work at Brother Rice High School

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI — Two new leaders, Tom Reidy and Therese Jackson, recently began their duties as president and principal, respectively, at Brother Rice High School.

Reidy spent the previous eight years as the head of school at Tampa Catholic High School in Florida which, like Brother Rice, is a part of the Consortium of Christian Brother Schools.

“I am very excited to be here at Brother Rice to continue the mission of building more complete men,” Reidy said in a statement. “I have known about Brother Rice for a number of years. Through my participation in Edmund Rice Consortium of School, I am well aware of Brother Rice’s long tradition of excellence, the accomplishments of the student body, and the strength of its parent and alumni community. I believe that I was called to serve as President as a part of God’s plan. I am humbled and thrilled to be here.”

Jackson, who was previously the vice principal of Tampa Catholic High School, officially began her duties shortly following the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

Jackson has spent the summer working with the faculty to finalize the coming year’s curriculum, developing the annual professional development plan for teachers, and sharing her expertise to the completion of the school’s new Learning Center — a project that has been in development for several months.

Reidy has been the principal/head of school at Tampa Catholic for the last eight years. In that job, he has been leader of both the Administrative and Educational teams. Prior to this role, he served at Tampa Catholic as a coach, teacher, and administrator.

Tom is married and has 3 children.

He was a collegiate baseball player at Florida Southern College, where he captained the team.

At FSC, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and went on to attend National-Louis University and earn a Master’s Degree in Education.

The Board of Directors is thrilled that Tom Reidy will lead Brother Rice in the next chapter of its history.”

Jackson has served as an Educational Administrator of Catholic schools for over 20 years from Early Childhood to High School.

She has an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University.

Therese served on Diocesan curriculum committees for many years and chaired the Diocese of St. Petersburg’s standards based grading (SBG) committee that initiated SBG throughout the diocesan schools.

She has chaired accreditation committees for all levels of education.
