Police Ask Public's Help in Finding Murder Suspect, $2K Reward
A parole absconder is suspected in the murder of a woman whose body was found stuffed in a closet Friday.

PONTIAC, MI – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Kevin Jermaine Wiley, 33, of Pontiac, who is wanted for the murder of a 30-year-old woman whose body was found stuffed in a closet of her Pontiac apartment Friday night.
Wiley, who has been on parole for manslaughter in a Wayne County since March 2015, is also wanted by the Michigan Department of Corrections as a parole absconder, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim’s parents found their daughter in the apartment in the 100 block of Ridgemont about 9:45 p.m. Friday after not having heard from her since Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
Her body showed obvious signs of trauma, and she was pronounced dead by a physician at McLaren Hospital – Oakland via telemetery, the sheriff’s office said. The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office said after an autopsy that she died of suffocation.

When authoities arrived at the apartment, they found a notice from the Corrections Department, which had been notified that Wiley had cut off his GPS tether, tacked on the front door.
The victim’s car had been missing from the residence and was later found in Detroit, where it was impounded by the Detroit Police Department and taken to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Lab for processing.
