Porch Pirate Grabs, Then Tosses Packages
Two residents reported the theft of packages, but the culprit may not have liked the merchandise inside.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP - Township police took two reports on a single day last week from two residents who said packages that had been delivered to their homes were stolen.
A third resident told police she found some of the merchandise believed to have been in the packages discarded in her yard in the 500 block of Overhill. She lived in the immediate vicinity of the first porch piracy victim.
That resident told police that two packages that had been delivered were on her porch when she left her home about 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, were gone when she returned home about an hour later.

During that approximate timeframe, a resident who lives in the 3000 block of Bradway Drive, reported receiving an electronic notification from UPS at 11:30 a.m., but the package was gone an hour later when the resident arrived home.
The thefts have been referred to the police department’s Investigations Division.
