Rare, 'Quickest Pickup Ever' Among Oakland County Auction Items

Only about 3,000 of the 1991 GMC Syclones — which accelerate at rate comparable to Corvettes and Ferraris — were ever manufactured.

Collectors of rare, vintage cars had better sit down for this, because opportunities to own something this rare almost never happen:

Among the cars on the auction block in Oakland County’s annual property auction later this month.

Of two highly prized collector cars on the auction list, the 1991 GMC Syclone is the most rare. Only 2,995 of the high-performance version of GMC’s Sonoma pickup were produced in 1991 (three were produced in 1992), and at the time they were considered the quickest stock pickup in the world, accelerating favorably with top sports cars like Corvettes and Ferraris.
