Sick Teacher Taken from Lone Pine Elementary by Ambulance
School officials said the teacher is home recovering after falling ill during early classes Friday.

A Lone Pine Elementary School teacher that was removed on a gurney after falling ill Friday morning is feeling much better this afternoon.
In the second of two e-mails sent to parents about the incident today, Principal Mary Hillberry said Mrs. MacLeod was released from a local hospital after about an hour of treatment and is expected to be back Monday.
MacLeod felt ill and was helped by paramedics in the teacher's lounge, away from students.

"None of our students witnessed anything this morning beyond seeing EMS arrive and come down the hall with a stretcher. Students did not witness Mrs. MacLeod falling ill or being helped by the EMS team," Hillberrry wrote.
Teachers also closed classroom doors along the main hallway to minimize the distraction as they left the building. They told curious students that someone felt sick but is okay in very general terms.

"Some students may be aware it was Mrs. MacLeod who was sick—the grapevine operates with lightning speed, even in the K-2 set," Hillberry said.
District spokeswoman Betsy Erikson Brown said MacLeod was a substitute teacher in the building.
Hillberry urged concerned students to prepare "get well" cards and other gestures for Mrs. MacLeod over the weekend, including e-mails to smacleod@bloomfield.org.
