Some Scammers Just Don't Know Their Audiences

Bloomfield Township police didn't fall for a too-good-to-be-true offer. You shouldn't either.

Someone tried to scam the Bloomfield Township Police Department, which received a facsimile transmission from a company calling itself USA Business Capital claiming “your company” has been approved for $250,000 in business working capital.

“Bloomfield Police could access the money now, and pay the money back in the future,” the letter promised.

Of course, police didn’t fall for it.

But it’s a good reminder for others not to take the bait.

The police department used the opportunity to remind businesses and residents “ to ignore offers that are too-good-to-be-true and do not provide any confidential or financial information,” according to the report.
