Suspect in Pontiac Standoff Turns Himself to Oakland Co. Sherriff

The man accused of a home standoff with deputies last month in Pontiac turned himself in to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, according to a WDIV-TV report.

Luis Francisco, 33, was arrested and charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm in commission of a felony in connection with the May 25 standoff at a Hazel Street home, the report stated.

That incident began after Francisco’s girlfriend and her brother came over to his house to retrieve items, the report stated. Francisco fired a gun at the brother and then threatened to commit suicide before the girlfriend and brother were able to escape, the report added.

Oakland County deputies and a SWAT team surrounded the home and evacuated the neighborhood, but he managed to flee the area, the report stated.
