The Biffstock School Radio Fundraiser Hits Airwaves Thursday, Friday

It’s time again for annual radio-a-thon on WBFH, the Bloomfield Hills Schools' radio station.

The station, known to locals as “The Biff,” will kick off its 36^th Biffstock pledge drive starting at 8 a.m. Thursday and run until 11 p.m. Friday. It allows WBFH students to collect money and pledges from listeners in the community who’d like to help underwrite expenses for radio station enhancements.

“Our radio-a-thon is a fun event for the radio students and it gives listeners a chance to support community radio with their donations,” WBFH Biffstock Chair and Andover senior Zac Barnett said in a press release. 

All 28 WBFH staff students from Andover and Lahser high schools will be on the air for one-hour shifts during the pledge, for a total of 28 hours of live programming. The station will broadcast live during the school day from Lahser High School on Thursday and then from Andover High School on Friday.

How to support WBFH

There are four levels of support for those who want to be a fan of The Biff: $25, $50, $100 and $250 or more. Those who donate receive donor announcements aired on the station and will be listed on the station’s website.

Also in connection with the pledge drive, a benefit rock concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 18 in the Andover Theater. The cost is a $5 donation and details about the concert will be posted later on the station website.
