Three Metro Detroit Merrill Lynch Advisors Named As Best

Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Advisor Dana Locniskar and Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors Phillip Appel and Leo Stevenson have been recognized on the 2018 Forbes "America’s Top 250 Wealth Advisors” List.

Since he joined Merrill Lynch in 1970, Locniskar, a Birmingham resident, has built an investment group with extensive experience in wealth management for high-net-worth individuals, family offices and institutions. Dana focuses on wealth management, concentrated stock strategies, and philanthropic, trust and estate services. He was also recognized by Forbes in its list of "America’s Top Wealth Advisors" in 2016, Barron’s magazine in its list of Top 1,200 Advisors in 2009-2017 and the Financial Times as one of the Top 400 Advisors in the United States in 2013 and 2014.

Appel, a Bloomfield Hills resident, joined Merrill Lynch in 1993 in its New York research department. He joined his uncle, cousin in the now more than 50-year old Bloomfield Hills practice, which has been on the Barron’s list of “America’s Top 1,200 Advisors” since its inception. Appel was listed last year on that Barron’s list.

Stevenson, a Grosse Ile resident, is a Managing Director-Wealth Manager in the Wyandotte, Michigan Office. He has also been named to Barron’s® list of Top 1,200 Advisors for four continuous years beginning in 2014. Leo is active in local community social activities. Some of these activities include the opening of a soup kitchen, past director of the local Salvation Army, finance committee member of his local parish, board member of a local country club and member of the Wyandotte Downtown Development Authority.

Leo graduated from Michigan State University in 1978 with a degree in Finance.
