Well-Timed Screams Save Man from Being Crushed in Demolition
Demolition crew hired to tear down abandoned properties stopped the operation in the nick of time, but man sustained multiple broken bones.

PONTIAC, MI – Well-timed screams from a 59-year-old Pontiac man who had repeatedly been warned to stay away from a trailer at a demolition site saved him from being crushed to death Tuesday, authorities said.
As it was, the man was banged up plenty during the demolition operation and suffered several broken bones and a deep cut to his head, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a report.

The trailer had already been hooked to a large excavator and dragged to another location, and the operator had begun crushing it when members of the crew heard the man screaming from the rubble, the sheriff’s office said.
They stopped the operator, and helped the man out of the trailer. Paramedics from the Waterford Regional Fire Department responded, and the victim was transported to McLaren Hospital – Oakland in Pontiac, where he was treated for his injuries.
