Here are five local places to donate blood during the month of October.

Approximately every two seconds a patient in the United States needs blood, according to a press release from the American Red Cross and during the month of October,Β donors will be eligible to win a $200 gift card, courtesy ofΒ Suburban Propane.

Walk-ins are always welcome, but donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment inΒ advance by callingΒ 1-800-RED CROSS orΒ redcrossblood.org.Β 

Here are five local places where Brighton residents can donate during the month of October.

October 3 fromΒ 10 a.m.- 3:45 p.m.

  • St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital:Β Come to donate for a chance to win tickets to the MSU-UM football game.
October 7 atΒ 1 p.m.Β - 6:45 p.m.
  • First United Methodist ChurchΒ in Howell. Come to donate for a chance to win tickets to the MSU-UM football game.Β 
October 9 atΒ 1 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
  • St. John Catholic ChurchΒ inΒ Howell. Come to donate for a chance to win tickets to the MSU-UM football game.
