What an idea: having a show in a showroom! The Ann Arbor Area Pastelists (AAAP) are now showing about 50 original pastel paintings at Esquire Interiors in settings which look like homes or offices. Pastels of many different styles and colors complement the stunning arrangements of furnishings, window treatments, tile, wall finishes and flooring. Don't forget to look up as you walk on a floor of pennies! It is a scene of abundance, and "Abundance" fits right in, my pastel of the harvest with Indian corn, squash and fall colors. It's high on a wall above fabric samples, but that's part of the fun. I have several pieces in the show. The patchwork of colors and textures can get anyone's creative juices going. Here is a closeup of "Abundance," which is also on the AAAP poster for the event that continues through February 21, 2014. But displays will be constantly tweaked, and art that sells is replaced with more art, so you can go back several times and always see something new. The upscale showroom is located at 5863 Jackson Road near Zeeb Road, open Mon-Fri 10-6, Sat 10-4, Sun 12-4. Visit the exhibit any time during store hours. Hope to see you at the Artists' Reception on Sunday, December 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. Serving light refreshments, the artists will be there to discuss their techniques and art. And on that note, Happy Thanksgiving and abundant blessings to all!
