Residents should watch for details on routes and timing so they can get fallen branches and other storm damage to the curb in time.
• Almost 6,000 DTE customers remain without power 4 days after severe storms hit Metro Detroit (fox2detroit.com) — Hundreds of Brighton-area DTE customers are still without electricity days after last week's severe storms, with about 1,100 outages remaining across Brighton, Howell, and Pinckney. Crews from around the region are working to restore service, while tornado damage in Detroit and Lincoln Park highlights how widespread the weather impacts were across Southeast Michigan.
• American Indian students made up 0.3% of Hartland Farms Intermediate enrollment in 2024-25 (livingstontoday.com) — Hartland Farms Intermediate, part of Hartland Consolidated Schools whose central office is in Brighton, enrolled two American Indian students in 2024–25, up from one the year before. Overall enrollment reached 770 students, with white students making up more than 90%, while statewide data show academic performance still lagging pre-pandemic levels and persistent racial achievement gaps.
