
Michigan Urgent Care leader and founder, Mohammed Arsiwala, M.D., has been elected to represent the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) as an alternate delegate for the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates (HOD). The HOD is the principle policy-making body for the AMA. Its delegates and alternate delegates represent organizations from around the country including state, local and specialty medical societies.
Dr. Arsiwala was elected during the MSMS annual House of Delegates meeting, which was held on April 26-28th in Grand Rapids, MI. He was also elected to serve as the chair for the Legislative and Regulatory Committee for the MSMS Board of Directors.
Dr. Arsiwala is the President and Medical Director of Michigan Urgent Care, a system of ten urgent care facilities across South Eastern Michigan. Dr. Arsiwala earned his medical degree from Deccan College of Medical Science in Hyderabad, India, and he completed his education and residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Arsiwala demonstrates strong leadership in organized medicine. “My passion lies in the area of legislature and advocacy,” stated Dr. Arsiwala, “I am committed to providing high quality, low cost care while improving access for patients and coordination of care with primary care physicians to meet patient centered medical home standards.”
Throughout his career, Dr. Arsiwala has served on a number of different boards and committees. He is currently serving as president-elect for the Wayne County Medical Society, and is the current president of the Urgent Care Association of Michigan.

With a strong belief in helping others, Dr. Arsiwala also commits himself to a number of different organizations. As a member of Physicians Who Care, he provides free clinical care to uninsured adults at St. Vincent De Paul in Detroit. He sponsors the Special Personal Assistance Program at the Samaritan Center, and provides hygiene kits, and clothes for the homeless. In addition, Dr. Arsiwala traveled to Haiti in March on a medical relief mission with the Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA).
