Bagger Dave's Announces New Spring Menu and Partnership with Kids LiveWell Program

Southfield, Mich. – February 25, 2013 – Bagger Dave and his legendary burger taverns are gearing up for spring “train”ing.  Beginning today, new spring menu items will begin blooming at all Bagger Dave’s locations. Featured items include a new sandwich and healthy veggie options for those celebrating Lent. Most items on the menu are available in gluten free options as well.

“I have improved the perfect pair,” says Bagger Dave, the mythical restaurant spokesman who is a mystery to even those with the highest of ranks in the chain of burger taverns. “Sink your teeth into grilled cheese and tomato soup with a twist.”

The Twisted Mac Meltdown is not your typical grilled cheese. This sandwich uses Bagger Dave’s signature sourdough bread layered with Twisted Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Swiss cheese and topped with Chipotle BBQ Sauce. Along side this sandwich, diners can add the restaurants new Tomato Basil Soup for dipping.

Bagger Dave’s also offers a seasonal selection of craft beer. The metro Detroit locations will have the Dark Horse Brewing Company’s Raspberry Ale. It is light-bodied, easy to drink and fruity – perfect for the spring. All of the Michigan locations will have the Mt. Pleasant Train Wreck. This bad boy is 8.2 percent alcohol content, so take it easy.  “I burger, therefore I beer,” says Dave.

“If a new legend is what you crave, the Ono burger is the one to try,” says Dave. “If we used the Hawaiian word for delicious in the name, it’s gotta be good, right?” The burger is made with BBQ sauce, a sliced pineapple, sautéed onions and bacon.

It is easy to create a delicious, yet healthy burger at Bagger Dave’s with the option of lean ground beef, fresh turkey or vegetarian black bean patties. Slap that on a whole-wheat bun and load it with veggies and soon enough you will be sliding back into those skinny jeans.

Another new menu item may even top grandma’s recipe. Bagger Dave’s is now offering three types of Artisan Mac n’ Cheese. The original consists of cavatappi noodles twirled and twined with sharp cheddar, Swiss and smoked Gouda cheeses, topped with a mix of Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs, then baked golden brown. If you need a little heat, try the Smokin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheese. It’s the Twisted Mac ‘n’ Cheese ablaze with applewood bacon, jalapeños, pico de gallo and Santa Fe Chipotle Sauce. Still not satisfied? Then try the Chili Mac, cavatappi noodles smothered in Bagger Dave’s Amazingly Delicious Turkey Black Bean Chili, topped with pepper jack cheese.

For those friends who celebrate Lent or who are, as Bagger Dave likes to say, “veggie-tarians,” meatless offerings such as Tomato Basil Soup, Veggie Black Bean Burger, Artisan Twisted Mac n’ Cheese and the Tuna Melt are sure to excite taste buds.

In addition to the new menu, Bagger Dave’s is proud to announce the restaurant has signed on to the Kids LiveWell Program, a first-of-its-kind nationwide initiative that highlights restaurants providing nutritious and healthful menu options for children. The program is led by the National Restaurant Association in collaboration with Healthy Dining. Kids can choose applesauce or a banana over French fries and chow down on a kids turkey burger or Turkey Black Bean Chili.

The new menu items include:

  • Tomato Basil Soup
  • Ono Burger
  • Three types of Artisan Mac n’ Cheese
  • Twisted Mac Meltdown Sandwich
  • Hot Mess Meltdown Sandwich
  • A list of Gluten Free items
  • New seasonal craft beer selection
  • Healthy kids options
