
Lauren Benstead, a senior at Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy, has been named as one of more than 3,000 candidates for the 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholarship Program. The candidates were selected from among the 3.4 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in 2013. Inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholarship Program, now in its 49th year, is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Candidates are selected on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities. Lauren is the daughter of Alan and Deborah Benstead of Milford, Michigan.
