Interior Decorator Veronica Simmons, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Wixom, MI, has four room makeovers that were selected for inclusion in a month-long judging by people throughout the U.S. and Canada as part of Decorating Den Interiors’ International Dream Room contest.
The voting site is www.drvoting.decoratingden.com and is open to everyone, from April 4 - 24. There are nearly 300 sets of before and after photos, with brief descriptions of each makeover. The categories are: Bathrooms, bedrooms, children’s rooms, commercial, dining rooms, family rooms, home offices, kitchens, living rooms, window treatments, outdoor spaces and miscellaneous. Visitors to the site can vote in any or all of the categories.
“The rooms I designed are in the living room, window treatments, and home office categories” explained Simmons. “To keep the voting objective, I’m not revealing which rooms were for my clients.”
“These are real rooms for real people with real budgets,” says Simmons. “For 28 years, this contest has been judged only by journalists of national interior design and home magazines. This is the second year we have added the opportunity for others who would like to see the vast variety of designs by our award winning decorators throughout the U.S. and Canada and vote for their favorite. There is no cost to view the designs and judge.”
“Over the years, many of the entries in our Dream Room contest have been featured in national and regional magazines. Our online voting attracted thousands last year, giving even more people inspiration for adding those beautiful touches that make their house a home. We hope even more will participate this year,” Simmons said.
By judging, visitors to the voting site will be participating in the selection of a Peoples’ Choice Award, which will be presented at Decorating Den Interiors international conference and market to be held in Memphis, May 7-11th.
Decorating Den Interiors, the largest home furnishings and interior design franchise company in North America, has been holding this contest for its more than 325 owners and designers in order to select its annual Decorator of the Year and other interior design awards.
