National Kidney Foundation of Michigan Offers Exercise Class in Brighton

The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) is hosting exercise classes at Brighton Senior Center, located at 850 Spencer Rd.

The NKFM’s Enhance Fitness class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 11:00am. Although the class is aimed at helping older individuals improve their overall fitness and well-being, all adults are welcome. Those with physical disabilities or who travel by wheelchair are also
encouraged to attend. Drop-in participants are welcome.

The one-hour class focuses on cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, flexibility and balance training by
demonstrating fun and simple ways to exercise. A certified fitness instructor leads classes two times a week to provide social stimulation as well as physical benefits to participants. Specific techniques help improve overall
functional fitness and quality of life. Many people who have participated in Enhance Fitness reported an increase in strength, greater activity level, and improved mood during and after taking the course.
