The St. Mary Wildcats seventh and eighth grade varsity boys basketball team capped a 11-1 regular season with a first-place finish in their end-of-season championship tournament January 26 at Charyl Stockwell Academy in Howell.
The Wildcats also recently won the St. Paul (Ann Arbor) Invitational Tournament in December.
“We’re proud of the tournament win and terrific season, but more important than wins was the spirit of teamwork, good sportsmanship and fair play,” said Principal Veronica Kinsey. “A special thank you goes out to the volunteer coaches who often left work early and selflessly gave of their time and energy all season.”

The sixth grade team took second place in the tournament, while fifth graders placed third.
