August brings my garden to its full potential, the last of the lillies, the fullness of the phlox and the second blooming of the rock roses. And let's not forget the fabulous sunflower. The sunflower is actually made of hundreds of florets crowded together. The outer petals are called 'ray' florets and the inner are the 'disc' florets which mature into seeds. Enjoy!
