May 30, 2013. Brighton High School seniors celebrated the end of their high school experience with a special senior ceremonial walk and picnic. The senior walk, through the halls of BHS, is a new tradition created by principal Gavin Johnson who brought the idea from his former district Owosso. Seniors received their caps and gowns before the walk, where parents and teachers, as well as underclassmen, were encouraged to line the hall as they sported their cap and gowns. After the walk, seniors were able to have a final picnic to mingle with their fellow classmates and teachers. Food was provided by the administration, teachers, parents and support staff. Seniors will graduate on Saturday, June 8th at Eastern Michigan University’s campus.
