Brighton High School honors best and brightest with their Wall of Fame
47 graduating seniors with a 4.0 or better are honored on the Wall of Fame
Each year, all of the graduating seniors from the class of 2015 who had over a 4.0 grade point average or higher got their picture taken by Alex Catildo from portraits by Alex, then that picture is placed on the wall. All of the pictures on the wall then will stay there for the following school year for all of the students of Brighton High School to walk by each day as motivation to keep up on their studies in hopes of being there one day.
“It is really awesome to be on the same wall as some of the smartest kids I have ever met, it makes me feel like all of our hard work has paid off,” senior Kenzie Roggenkamp said.
Roggenkamp is 12th in her grade out of the forty seven that made the wall. This year, there has been the largest amount of seniors out of all the years to have over a 4 point grade point average.

For the 2015 school year, we have two valedictorians representing the class of 2015. Those two representatives are Ethan Curtis and Derek Lukacs. Curtis will not be able to attend graduation because he will be at study camp for Chemistry Olympiad Nationals. There are only 20 students in the country that qualify and Brighton’s Ethan Curtis is one of them.
At camp, the 20 students will compete for one of four spots on the USA team that will be participating in the upcoming 47th International Chemistry Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan, on July 20- 29, 2015.

Lukacs will be giving the speech at graduation. Technically, he has the highest grade point average for the class of 2015 by .01. Lukacs finished high school with a 4.3179 for 7 semesters.
Since Curtis and Lukacs were named co-valedictorians, there are now 3 salutatorians. The three salutatorians are Elena Stefanko, Alec Brennan, and Tommy Oliver.
“I’m honored to be up there with so many other great students. We have been working hard for these past years at BHS and it is so nice to know that it was all worth it. I am so proud of all my classmates for getting us where we have gotten. It’s cool to know that our class has had the most GPA’s of 4.0 and over,” Lukacs said.
