  • Age: 18
  • School: Brighton High School
  • Parents: Kevin and Ronne DuBach
  • Introduction: After years training as a gymnast, Alex retired from the sport to concentrate on her track career. A sprinter and long-jumper, Alex also chose to focus on hurdles for her senior season, which her high school track coach says will make and an "invaluable" addition to her future team. "She's going to make such a huge impact because she's not just a sprinter," Gee said. "That's valuable- to be a sprinter and a jumper- but now you take another technique and add that in, that's invaluable. She has so many skill sets."
  • Achievement: Her heart, desire and dedicated attitude has helped her succeed in the goals she sets for herself, according to Gee, rewarding the young athlete with an opportunity to continue her athletic career at a college level. "It's takes a lot of character to be a senior and try something new," Gee said. "I admire her for it. She did it and she has had success."
  • Keys to awesomeness: Gee calls Alex's combination of natural talent and work ethic a "double threat" who didn't let fear overcome her ambition to succeed. "Her desire to win is amazing and you can see it in her eyes," she said. "This girl is on fire."
