This past month, the Brighton Varsity Pom team flew on out to Orlando, Florida to compete at UDA Pom and Dance Nationals. This is a annual trip this team does, and begins preparing all the way back in July. These 24 girls compete their two dances in the categories of Jazz and Pom. Depending on how well the entire team competes, the teams make it through the certain levels and compete a certain amount of times. One begins with pre-lims, then onto semi-finals, and finish off with finals to see who will come out on top. The Brighton Pom Team had one of their best performances, getting the team to semi-finals for the first time in 3 years. There were 3 JV girls that followed the team to Florida to provide any extra help for the team, one was Jordana Agius.
“It was inspiring to watch the varsity team perform, and place so well” Agius said.
