Brighton Resident Turns Shopping Annoyance Into Successful Business

Lisa Nelson started her business, Hush, after being fed up with the bra buying experinence.
"I interviewed moms, sisters, cousins, friends, aunts, perfect strangers. I wanted to know what they WOULD like in a bra shopping/buying experience," Nelson said. "I had a vision, backed it with data, and made it happen."

How did your business come to be?: I was fed up with the bra buying experience, so I started researching a better way. I interviewed moms, sisters, cousins, friends, aunts, perfect strangers. I wanted to know what they WOULD like in a bra shopping/buying experience. I had a vision, backed it with data, and made it happen.
What kind of services do you offer?: We offer undergarment consultations. We have 169 bra sizes - on hand. From petite cups to full busted. We can help you. We are solution finders! We want to know how you move in your life, what's important to you in an undergarment, and what's your budget. We want to make sure we bring you solutions that are right for you, not just the item of the week. We can also help you with shape-wear so you look great in that little black dress. We have everything on hand you need for that special night out and your everyday needs: hosiery, panties, DIMRS, fabric care wash, pajamas, etc.

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?: We carry bra-sized swim suit separates. Yep, that's right. No more inappropriate jiggling at the beach with your kids. Or just the right amount of cleavage on the beach with your girlfriends - without the worry of spilling out!
What do you want your business to be best known for?: Knowledge, selection, and privacy. And, of course, we are compassionate as well. We are moms, wives, girlfriends, sisters, and community leaders.
What's your most popular product or service?: Bra, bras, bras, and more bras. It's what we do.
When was the business founded?: 2007
Why did you choose to locate to Brighton?: In addition to living here, and loving it here - Demographics. Brighton has a small town feel even though the population is large. I love the community and the downtown. I have also known my landlords for 13 years. They the most kind, loving people I have ever met. When the space in their building became available, I knew it was time to launch.
