Brighton Schools Close Monday Due to Power Outages

High winds that knocked out power to thousands in Brighton Sunday evening closed Brighton Schools buildings Monday.

Students in all Brighton Area Schools have the day off. 

More than 392,000 DTE customers across metro Detroit, including 3,918 in Brighton, lost power in the wake of high winds and a strong storm that blew through southeast Michigan. 

DTE encourages customers to report downed power lines and power outages through its mobile website, or online at dteenergy.com, or by using the DTE Energy Outage Center app on their iPhone or Android phone, or by calling 800-477-4747.
