Buckle Up: Click It or Ticket Campaign Ramps Up

Police agencies across Michigan team up to enforce seat belt law through June 5.

As part of the 2011 Click It or Ticket campaign, the Livingston County Sheriff Department will be conducting several seat belt enforcement zones throughout the county.  The Livingston County Sheriff Department is partnering with more than 200 police departments from across the state including the to take part in this campaign.

The goal again this year, is to ensure a safe holiday weekend for all of our motorist and travelers, and prevent serious injury. Research shows that by wearing a seat belt properly, the risk of being killed in a crash is reduced by 50 percent.

The campaign will consist of day- and night-time enforcement and will run through June 5. Motorists who are cited for the seat belt violations will face a $65 fine.
