FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CAMP LIBERTY TO HOST ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE ON AUGUST 4TH

Come see how Camp Liberty provides inclusive outdoor recreation programs that aid in the reintegration of U.S. military service members, veterans, and their families.

BROOKLYN, MI- On Saturday, August 4th Camp Liberty will be hosting their annual open house from 10:00am-3:00pm. This fun filled day will feature live music from Fast Eddie and lots of fun filled activities including archery, hayrides, tours of Camp Liberty, bounce house, wild animal exhibit, scuba lesson sign-ups, scuba lessons, information on the Native American Veterans Association of Southeastern Michigan (NAVASEMI), black hawk helicopter, and the latest information on Camp Liberty’s newest addition, beehives! Open to the public, you won’t want to miss this event!

Camp Liberty is an organization of dedicated volunteers and civic leaders who want to share the resources of Camp Liberty with veterans and their families. Camp Liberty is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that features over 135 acres of beautiful Michigan woods, fields, wetlands and water access, teaming with wildlife. We host various veteran and special group outdoor recreation activities to help veterans enjoy a therapeutic experience unique to Michigan.

We believe that through having recreational activities for our troops and their families, Camp Liberty will be providing an exceptional opportunity to identify those individuals who are struggling with the reintegration process. Through our partnerships and faith based resources we can provide guidance and help for U.S. military service members and veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries.

All veterans are welcome to enjoy the outdoor resources of Camp Liberty and we encourage them to participate in future activities and also to volunteer to help other veterans. A veteran can participate in several hunting opportunities (deer, pheasant and turkeys) or enjoy some quiet outdoor time with their families and watch native Michigan wildlife stroll through Camp Liberty’s property. Track Chairs are available to enhance the outdoor experience for those with limited mobility. Our resources are focused on veterans and we want to give back to those who have served us.

###

Camp Liberty provides an environment conducive to the therapeutic experience facilitated by a natural wilderness setting, helping individuals develop life skills or face health challenges. Camp Liberty’s base of operations, 137 acres located in Norvell Township of Jackson County, MI, is operated by Camp Liberty through a long-term land sharing agreement. Under this agreement, Camp Liberty Inc. utilizes this property for its recreational and therapeutic programs. A multi-year conservation plan has been implemented to restore this property to a native Michigan habitat in cooperation with the support of conservation organizations such as Pheasants Forever, Safari Club International, and the National Wild Turkey Federations such as Pheasants Forever, Safari Club International, and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
