Cooking, Shakespeare, Computer Classes and More at the Library
New programs available for kids, teens and adults offered this week 4/8 - 4/13.

Stop by the Library this week for creative crafting or cooking with the kids, on Tuesday, the teen and adult departments invite you to learn more about William Shakespeare – his life and work. Need a place to study or hang out with friends – check out BDL Teen Time – laptops, games and snacks are available. Our adult computer technology department offers the latest hands-on training for you with Google Docs and eReader or come by the Open Computer Lab for specific problems.

Youth Programs
Tiny Tutus - 4/10, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Enjoy a story and music then using elastic strips and knotting tulle, create a simple child's tutu. Kids are invited to show off their tutu fashion by floating through the library with our "tutu" fun parade. For children ages 2-5 and their caregivers. Call 810-229-6571 ext. 223 to register.

Storybook Kitchen Kids - 4/13, 11:00am - 12:00pm
Let's get together and cook! Based on a picture book or poem, children will create food to share monthly. Kids will illustrate their own cookbook to keep. Ages 6-8. Call 810-229-6571 ext. 223 to register.
Teen Programs
William Shakespeare - 4/9, 7:00pm - 8:00pm (Teen/Adult)
Join Jim Glenn as he presents the history of Shakespeare. Mr. Glenn's lively and informative talks set the Bard against a rich description of Elizabethan times---surprising and delighting audiences with intriguing details of the author's life and work. The general presentation includes a biographical summary of Shakespeare’s boyhood in Stratford including what is known (or surmised) of the impact of Will's family, schooling and other early influences on his later work as a poet and playwright.

BDL Teen Time - 4/12, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
If you're looking for a place to study or just hang out with your friends, drop by for BDL Teen Time. Laptops will be available, as well as some games, snacks, and drinks! Ages 11-18. Drop-in.
Teen Movie - 4/13, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Bring a friend and check out a newly released movie at the Library! Snacks and beverages will be provided. Check out this month's PG movie by going to brightonlibrary.info/teencalendar. Call 810-229-6571 ext. 227 to register. For ages 11-18.

Introduction to Google Docs - 4/8, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Google Docs is a free, cloud-based suite of tools for creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more. This class will cover the Documents application in Google Docs, in addition to showing you how to access and store your Docs from Google Drive. Registration required, call 810-229-6571 x210.

Looking for some ebook assistance? Every 2nd Wednesday, from 10:30am to 11:30am, we'll be hosting an ebook lab where you can get help with your ereader and The Download Destination. Drop-In.
