Distracted Brighton Teen Drives Car into Swamp

No injuries were reported after a teen driver drove his car off the road after being distracted by his phone.

A 16-year-old Brighton resident drove his car off the road after being distracted while attempting to change a song on his phone, according to a report from the Michigan State Police- Brighton Post.

Police say on April 10, the driver was travelling east on Victor Street around 7:45 p.m. when he drove over a curb, crashed through a fence and drove into a water-filled swamp area.

No injuries were reported and Michigan State Police were assisted by Green Oak Township Police Department and Livingston County EMS.
