Documentary Filmmaking

This three hour class in an essential guide to becoming a documentary filmmaker, from generating an interesting topic, organizing the production, what equipment you need to create your production and ultimately presenting your finished program to a television or DVD distributor.  You will learn the fundamentals of documentary filmmaking, most importantly what basic equipment you will need to shoot and edit, how to adequately cover your subject and the best way to interview people.  At the end of this class you will be able to determine what is the right topic for you and how establish your own individualistic style.  Learn how to make a professional documentary that millions of viewers may see!

This class is taught by Kevin Lindenmuth, who has nearly 30 years of experience in the film/television industry both in New York City and Detroit.  He has produced over a dozen independent features which have been distributed worldwide and 7 documentaries, the majority of which have been broadcast on PBS nationally.  He is the author of four books on independent filmmaking.
