Celebration of Life With Dr. Alveda King

Dr. Alveda King will speak at the Pregnancy Helpline Celebration of Life annual fund raising event. Dr. King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, will share her personal story of abortion, suffering and healing.  Dr. King is the Director of African American Outreach for the Gospel of Life and consults with the African Humanitarian Christian Fellwoship.  She is an author, her most popular books are “Sons of  Thunder: The King Family Legacy” and “I Don’t Want Your Man, I Want Your Own”. She is a former college professor and has served as the Senior Fellow of the Alexis de Tocqueville Institute, On the Silent No More Campaign, the Coalition of African American Pastors and served in the Georgia State House of Representatives.

Pregnancy Helpline has been serving Livingston County residents in need since 1975.  PH offers free pregnancy testing, ultrasound, nurse consultation, relationship and parenting education and supplies families will all the basic needs of infants. 

In 2011 the Clinic provided nearly 3,000 parenting and mentoring sessions, 300 free pregnancy tests and nurse consultations, 200 ultrasounds, and provided all the basic needs (diapers, food, formula, wipes, clothing, furniture and equipment) for over 200 infants in Livingston County.
