PLACES STILL AVAILABLE FOR SINGING TALENT SHOWCASE ‘HOMETOWN IDOL’ COMING TO ZUKEY LAKE TAVERN

Places are still available for singers of all ages who wish to compete in America’s favorite singing talent showcase, Hometown Idol. Preliminary contests are scheduled to take place at Zukey Lake Tavern, 5011 Girard Drive, Pinckney, MI 48169 on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 7:00pm for Juniors (ages 12 and under), Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 7:00pm for Teens (ages 13-19) and Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 7:00pm for Adults (age 20+). Music and lyrics must be age-appropriate and family friendly, however, any style of music is welcome.

Registration is from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at each preliminary show. There is a $20 registration fee per contestant. Contestants may pre-register online at www.yourhometownidol.com or register at the event.
Contestants may sing a cappella or bring a karaoke-style music track (no lead vocals) on CD or one instrument for accompaniment.
Singers will be judged on vocal performance, stage presence, execution (four-minute time limit), technique and appearance. An impartial panel will judge the event. Finalists will be invited to perform at the Hamburg Family Fun Fest on Saturday, June 15, 2013, where cash and trophies will be awarded to the top finalists in each age category.
