Why go: Memorial Day weekend will jam for the seventh straight year as 71 bands perform for 10 hours on six stages. Metal, hardcore, folk and indie pop artists like Norma Jean, Eisley, I Am The Avalanche, La Dispute, The Chariot and Defeater are on the bill.

Why go: Wave the flag and celebrate those who have bravely fought in battle, as well as the traditional start of summer, as the traditional Memorial Day parade runs along W. Main Street from Brighton High School to the Mill Pond, with a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial.

CLASSIC CAR SHOW

Where/when: Downtown Brighton/5 p.m. Tuesdays.

Why go: Cruise Main Street in your little deuce coupe as classic car nights return to the downtown on Tuesdays through Aug. 30.
