Great Escape: Green Oak Fire Department Open House

Head out to the Green Oak Fire Department, 9384 Whitmore Lake Rd. in Brighton, on Oct. 1 for their fall open house. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the men and women of the Green Oak Fire Department will open their doors to the public to get an inside peek at what these local heroes do everyday. 

From a vehicle extraction demonstration to search and resuce demonstrations, the afternoon will be packed with stuff to keep you busy. Fire trucks and helicopters will be present and on display, as well as fire house activities, bunker gear and thermal camera demonstrations will give the public a glimpse of the kinds of technology the fire department uses to help us.

There will be refreshments and home fire safety displays as well. Come alone, with friends, a spouse or bring the whole family! This great escape gets you out of the house, but also offers some learning by taking a deeper look into the workings of a fire station for those young minds!
