Imagination Station Now Closed Indefinitely

The city announced its review of the park's materials could be made known as early as next week.

The city released another press release on the status of the Imagination Station Thursday, saying it will remain closed for "an indefinite period of time."

The release comes after the city that the playground would be closed temporarily for maintenance repairs.

City Manager Dana Foster, who sent today's press release around 6 p.m., said he and other city staff don't have a projected timetable or date for when the park will be reopened.

Foster said that he is awaiting a review from the city engineer that contains "at a minimum, an analysis of samples of materials gathered from the playground."

Foster said he will give the public an update about the results of that review as soon as it is completed, which he said could be as early as next week.

Foster repeated his announcement to this time adding that it was "an effort to err on the side of caution."
