Ladies Night Out in Downtown Brighton!

Don't miss this highly anticipated Ladies Night Out event with nearly 60 participating businesses! Lots of great things to do and buy!

Ladies Night Out in Downtown Brighton will take place Dec. 4 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. This event features nearly 60 participating businesses, all catering to the ladies with refreshments, sales, and/or fun stuff going on inside their stores, including trunk shows, giveaways, prize drawings, a book signing and tons more. You can shop for one-of-a kind gifts and look for trendy holiday décor while supporting your favorite local businesses.

“I am excited we have so many merchants participating in this event,” said Jen Ling, Marketing and Event Coordinator for the Downtown Brighton Principal Shopping District. “And we have a few new elements this time that I think ladies will really enjoy. I just love seeing this event grow. It’s so great for our downtown.”

New this Ladies Night Out is, “The Little Popup Shop,” located at 332 W. Main Street (future site of Yogurtopia) where several off-Main Street and service-based businesses will be found. Merchants will offer refreshments in The Little Popup Shop, and The State Bank will provide free giftwrapping. Attendees can also utilize the Brighton Ford free parking shuttles that will be running from Meijer from 5:00-10:30 p.m., also new for this event.

“This is a great way to start the holidays,” said Lisa Nelson, owner of Hush Intimate Apparel. “It really gets ladies in the mood to shop, not just for people on their lists, but also for themselves. It’s a great kickoff to the shopping season.”

Ladies Night Out was started about 10 years ago by Gail Sherman, owner of Impulse Clothing Boutique, as she promoted a holiday shopping night to her regular customers. The event has not only grown with the number of merchants participating and the amount of ladies attending, but it has turned into a bi-annual shopping day that is held every May and December.

“I look forward to the fact that the store is swarming with people,” says Tracey Flanigan, proprietor of Art in Bloom. “We always have ladies up front shopping and in the studio in the back creating something fun. I think it’s a great night for women to get out and do something different.”

The Brighton locations of the Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard by Marriott and the Homewood Suites by Hilton are offering free shuttles, discounted room rates, and other incentives for Ladies Night Out. Each hotel is doing something different, but overnight perks include late bar hours during the event, pool hours until midnight, late checkout, and free continental breakfast.
